What comes to your mind when you hear the word NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION. It means you communicate your feelings and emotions through various media ? facial expressions, body postures, actions, touch etc. It is believed that it is better than VERBAL COMMUNICATION.
Touch is an important tool for communication. Giving an occasional hug to the child, an encouraging smile or a pat on the back can be effective in letting the child know that we love and care for him or her. Touch can help the child to experience feelings of affection, intimacy, involvement and tenderness.
I remember myself being so affectionate to my kids when they were just babies. But as time pass by i realized that I treat them with lesser affection. I said to myself, maybe it’s normal. But now I know it is not normal for a mother to give her children lesser affection, lesser love if I may say. Something is wrong with what I am doing. My love for them should not be lesser than before. Instead, I should show my love for them not just by telling them how much I love them but by showing them my love for them thru my actions. Mother’s love should grow in time and affection.
