What comes to your mind when you hear the word NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION. It means you com­municate your feelings and emo­tions through various media ? facial ex­pressions, body postures, actions, touch etc. It is believed that it is better than VERBAL COMMUNICATION.

Touch is an important tool for commu­nication. Giving an occasional hug to the child, an encouraging smile or a pat on the back can be effective in letting the child know that we love and care for him or her. Touch can help the child to experi­ence feelings of affection, intimacy, in­volvement and tenderness.

I remember myself being so affectionate to my kids when they were just babies. But as time pass by i realized that I treat them with lesser affection. I said to myself, maybe it’s normal. But now I know it is not normal for a mother to give her children lesser affection, lesser love if I may say. Something is wrong with what I am doing. My love for them should not be lesser than before. Instead, I should show my love for them not just by telling them how much I love them but by showing them my love for them thru my actions. Mother’s love should grow in time and affection.
